No. Failure to pay is a civil crime not a criminal one. You can be sued but unless it's a large amount, you won't be. What will happen is you will get a negative feedback rating on the auction site.

You can be criminally charged if you use someone else's credit card information to pay for an auction, however.

When you bid on something on line you enter a contract to buy the item .. You could be prosecuted and made to pay or what normally happens is you get a bad rating and/or kicked off the auction site.. The seller is allowed to resell the item.. talk with the seller he might allow you to get out of the contract..

No. It is not a crime. You might be subject to civil penalites, though, like having to pay the amount you promised, or if the item is sold for less, the difference between the sale price and the amount you bid.
