overrated my ****. They were some of the pioneers, they helped to shape rock music today. It's a fact that well over half of the rock musicians today, and even artists in other genres credit zep as being a major influence.

Popular music tastes do change though. Despite their abilities, I do not think that they would be as "cool" as they were back in the day. The standards are no longer the same. Everything is geared towards making money, producing those three-minute thirty second radio hits.

under all of that though, would be a large "cult" following of fans who see through the marketing and the B.S. of the "in crowd."

I think they would be just as popular as they were when they began. If they were just starting today, I would imagine the music they played would be more modern. Music has changed since Led Zeppelin but a lot of music made today is popular now because of bands like Led Zeppelin. So yes..

I actually do think that Led Zeppelin would be very popular if they were just starting out today. A lot of the music out today couldn't even be put in the category of 'talent.' Most artists don't even write their own music or play any instruments. I think Led Zeppelin would be popular because they come up with their own music and have sheer talent.

Since Led Zeppelin is such a KICK *** band... I believe they would... you have bands like The White Stipes that have the same kind of guitar riffs... I think they would do great! I mean I know people my age that are die hard Led Zep fans! They would have a huge following!

Um YES! They'll probably do AWESOME cause 1) like alison said, they're a "KICK*** band!" 2)Their music is real and original and would be a perfect alternative to all the bands/artists today that all sound alike and 3)I know i'm not the only one who thinks they are amahzing and 4)...jimmy page is the man

For me, yes, for sure. They were great (according to me, since they're my favorite band) , they had magnificent lyrics and music, and the whole sound was charming (I love "Stairway to Heaven").
So, it does not matter when a band starts, I think. Even if they started today, they would still find their audience (the one that suits them) and be popular, in their way. After all, I cannot imagine a world without them!!!

No1 That genre isn't as big. Their style started out as blues/rock.
How many blues rock people can you think of out there today? They evolved, but blues/rock was their foundation. The rock music these days is very bland and only similar music makes it.(See my blog on my 360 page)

No, because the fabric and flavor of rock/society/culture/age has changed or evolved. Besides, they are WAY overrated. Page is outstanding, but you can have the rest.

no, because hardly anyone would have got to hear of them. in this age of attractiveness over talent only the pretty/slim/young singers get heard nowadays. to make money in the music game you have to have the qualities stated above. in my day it didn't matter what you looked like,if you sounded good then you got heard. :(

I doubt it. because back in the day, people actually had sense to not listen to rap. soo today everything is rap rap rap. and rap SUCKS. so probably not as popular, but would be popular enough to make it.
