The language centers of your brain are used both in external hearing and composing speech internally.
It'd be wasteful to have two separate sections for each task when one can easily do both. You visual processing is the same way, when you think about how something looks you're lighting up some of the same brain regions used in actually seeing it.

You don't actually hear yourself think. You are just thinking. As if you are telling yourself what to say, but it stays in your head. I agree with the man above.

Your brain not your ear is what we hear with. Soom forget that. So are brain recieves the signals of thought and understands them. Are brain is a very complex electric signal translater. It not only understands the signals are ear hears, or are nerves send. It also understands are thoughts.

Maybe it is because it is one of the remainders of originally having twelve-helixed DNA instead of double. Who knows what else we have lost, and ghosts of remnants remain.
Maybe there was a time before time when we communicated telepathically instead of verbally, and as our environment changed, we physically changed. Hence, our mouths and speech? Or maybe we had both? So why do we only see glimpses of our intuition, and why do we ignore it? What is the source of our intuition?
