I was shocked the way it was done. I don't really care for her but I think Barbara Walters handled it really bad. Her creditability went down in my book. I think when Rosie comes on they won't last but a couple of months. Meridith was smart to leave the way she did.

I am pretty frequent View watcher..except when my son wants to watch a different show. I however didn't watch it this week at all; I was shocked to here that she was leaving. However, from what I have read, she didn't do asked by the network as far as announcing it she was planned to announce it some time later and she kinda of just decided to take the chance and make herself look like a poor rejected child. She knew if she did it the way she did there would be more talk about it, then if she just let it out as planned. I have also heard that she thought she should get Meredith's job and was ticked when she didn't get the offer; and it was sometime after that the network told her that her contract would not be renewed. The other thing that has been said is that Rosie will actually now be taking Star's job and someone else will be brought in to do Meredith's job..which actually kinda makes sense...I wouldn't be surprise if some like Lisa Ling wouldn't be brought in...but I don't think she is available.

I suspected that she was leaving THE VIEW when it was announced that Rosie McDonalds...oh sorry, O'Donnell was joining the show.
But what I don't understand is why do people think Star Jones suddenly became like this after she lost the weight? She's always been mouthy, upfront, and honest.
I'll admit, I've always watched the view because I LIKED the show.
I think Rosie O'Donnell is being a bit unfair well. Who cares how Star lost the weight...she's never denied or affirmed anything. Why do we need to know how she lost all that weight, which probably was the size of 2 10 year old children. I think Rosie's a bit jealous because Katie Holmes had Tom Cruise's baby and she wants to eat the baby but he won't let her.

I had no idea she was leaving the View. I am a service member currently stationed overseas and don't get a chance to stay on top of things however I am not surprised. She has changed a great deal since she got married and lost weight.

I don't even watch it and I was shocked! I guess she said she was quitting in July and then made some rude comments about the show so Barbara told her not to come back at all.
What do you think - is it going to be cancelled? Even with Rosie coming on?

I'm more shocked w/Rosie coming then w/Starr leaving. I don't get a chance to watch day-time TV and if I did I would probable watch the sci-fi channel anyway thanks for the 2

No. She clearly plays the role of the mouthy, I cant believe you said that type of person. Rosie Odonnel exudes that so Star was bound to go.

yea cuz she been there 4 so long also she didnt have a choice 2 leave or not the company woulnt re-new her contract so she would have had 2 leave anyways

No... she has ruffled to many feathers...On there and that is why I liked her... I hate to see a strong out spoken black pushed out and that is what they did... They hired Rosy o and Who still likes her Well I know this they wont get my ratings anymore...I am done
