Actually, the real "American dream" as referred to, is to become super rich. Mind bogglingly stinkingly nauseatingly rich.
And of course, this dream is open to all of you, even black people.
You have to be damned lucky, that's all I can say. For every one person who achieves it, there are a million who don't.
What kind of a dream is that anyway? Other societies strive for "equality for all" and other such philanthropic ideals, while you guys....

Sure it's feasible. Look at Bill gates, Donald Trump and plenty more. Let's face it. As nice a guy as you may seem you have to crush some people along the way to amass that kind of wealth.
However...the American Dream means achieving things in life such as a good education, decent job with pay and benefits, a car or two, electronic goodies to make your life easier and owning your own home or condo. kids are optional and so is a dog. It's all what you achieve that makes you feel comfortable and secure in your life. If you feel good about yourself and your current status then you're living the American Dream.
Remember...the Constitution guareentees every person to rise up in status and exisist as far as their talents will take them.

The generalization of the "American Dream" is to have a house with a white picket fence, two cars, and 2 1/2 children. So, that's definitely obtainable.
As for my American Dream, it would be to become aware enough of the world that I support those in need (like in Sudan) and those in need here in my country, while still enjoying life myself. I think we have to find a balance of personal enjoyment and charity.
Beyond that I just want my daughter to be happy and for all of us to have fun!

Yes it is. The "American Dream" to me means that anyone has the potential/opportunity to make a gratifying, comfortable life for themselves and their family. This is still true today, granted not as easy as it was say fifty years ago, however there are still opportunities for "go getter's".

Yes. Having a home, a family, two cars and being to go on a few vacations each year, not having to scrape and save for things we need, having the money to put the kids in activities they enjoy etc.
