just put them both in 1 PC...

transfer the data and then remove the old 1 (if you want)

please be care full and set the old disk to "slave" and the new one (with Windows) to master.

or you could ad the new drive as slave copy all data to it (including winXP) remove the old drive and set the new 1 to master then you wont need to reinstall windows (and save some hours work)

With the computer turned off, unplug the CD drive of your computer. Plug the old hard drive in it place. Boot the PC. You should see the old hard drive as a D: (or some later letter is you have multiple drives). Simply copy the files you want over to the new drive.

Go to a Radio Shack or similar type store and get a 'serial transfer cable'. I just recently bought a new computer and did this to transfer files from my old computer to the new one. Then go to 'accessories' and use the 'file transfer wizard' to move any or all files from your old computer to the new one. Quick and very easy. Price for the cable was 16 dollars.....good luck.
