I figured this one out by watching Chris Angel's work.
They use two people. In Angel's show the woman who made up the top half of the body was one of those people who is missing the lower part of her body; you know like those people you sometimes see on TV rolling around on skateboards and such. The other person is one of those twisty people who can hide their upper half between their legs. On Chris' show he cut himself in half in front of witnesses. This took a lot of work. Someone was bent down and hiding in the pants half while Chris had his legs tucked and restrained tightly behind his back. In the video I could see his feet sticking out near his armpits. The two people are held together and one is sitting on top of the other. It must take a lot of work to make it look seamless as the one walking must know how to walk around not seeing where they are going. This is how I think it is done.

The illusion can be created many ways.

The old traditional, well-known version is to use two women or a woman and some sort of toy or puppet for the feet.

A lot of the illusion is how the people fit- which can be done with optical illusions (making a big space look smaller), contortion, or just careful psychology, making you think one thing is happening when something else is going on.

Chriss Angel does a rather odd version using what looks like two people- a unique approach that would not work in most situations.

Many big stage illusionists have taken to more and more elaborate versions, trying to eliminate the boxes, or make everything more visible and harder to figure out.

That is part of the fun of magic- trying to stay ahead of the guesses!

Naw! Old hat. 1. There are other names you can't create folder or files. Because it is a reserved word. Others are: Name Function ---- -------- CON Keyboard and display PRN System list device, usually a parallel port AUX Auxiliary device, usually a serial port CLOCK$ System real-time clock NUL Bit-bucket device A:-Z: Drive letters COM1 First serial communications port LPT1 First parallel printer port LPT2 Second parallel printer port LPT3 Third parallel printer port COM2 Second serial communications port COM3 Third serial communications port COM4 Fourth serial communications port 2. The notepad did not work on my computer. Mine is a Vista. You probably would get obscure ascii characters on older versions. 3. That is a know quirk for MS Word. It is created by the font programmer in the beginning. Open any font in your font folder and you get that same sentence. Sorry to burst your bubble bub!

The most popular way to do it is to have another person in the lower half of the box. That way they can move the legs and the person you see get in can move the head. However, most magicians now use variations of the trick which make the above impossible. Look at Criss Angel for example. He knows that's what the common thing is so he goes out of his way to prove that's not what he's doing.
