Fontes got ahold of that bad bug where no coach or qb will be successful after the lions. Hopefully this tradition will break. I think the lions should have stuck it out with fontes barry liked him. keep your veterans happy he retired early because he dint want to lose and spend the rest of his career learning new schemes.

dont know i always liked wayne thought if they kept him around the lions would have been a lot better team and barry would hold the rushing record and no one would ever catch him

My best answer to that, is that he just burned out and retired. He never took an assistant job either.
