While I love early Bon Jovi stuff, I have to say that I think "It's My Life" is the best ever. Not only was it nominated for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal during the 2001 Grammys, but it also has some really kewl linkages in the song.
Example -- the words "Like Frankie said, I did it my way" is a tribute to Frank Sinatra. The reference to "This is for the ones who stood their ground, For Tommy and Gina who never backed down" refers to the Tommy and Gina from the band's earlier hit, Livin' on a Prayer.
The song is bright, catchy, and makes some interesting correlations. Most certainly worth considering as one of the band's best!
