Rubbing alcohol has worked for me. You have to be patient though. Really let it soak in and keep rubbing and adding more until it finally comes out. My daughter got red sharpie marker on my carpet about 3 years ago.

Try resolve carpet cleaner. You may have to use it a couple of times but if it removes motor oil from carpet I think it will work on a sharpie.

i just had my 4 yr old write the first two letters of her name on my beige carpet with blue bold sharpie! thank god for this site because I used rubbing alochol put it on washcloth and dapped quarter at a time then once it starts to come up use a different part of cloth so the color doesnt spread...then once the color starts to come up rub the spot with a little more alocohol and repeat until done. It is a miracle, then the very faint remainder can clean with carpet cleaner!

I feel your pain! My kids drew big circles of black sharpie on berber, so it got into all those little nubbies! It took a lot of patience, a lot of scrubbing (with a toothbrush) & a lot of carpet cleaner - I think I used both Resolve and Spot Shot & then a carpet machine when it was all said and done.

Try Resolve. Haven't tried it on Sharpie ink, but it has worked for everything else.

Try nail polish remover right on the spot. Don't rub. Let it set.
Use cold water and a brush after a half an hour. Don't scrub. Use small circular motions. as not to spead the stain.
Won't work, use resolve carpet cleaner (Foam) and let it set.
Repeat as needed and you'll be all set

Hi, I am not 100% sure if it will work on leather, but when i got permanent pen on a fake leather coat when I was younger my mum used hairspray to get it off. just spray a lot on and then wipe off with microfibre cloth or thick kitchen towel when wet. test an out of sight bit of the chair first though to make sure it will not stain. the hairspray trick works on whiteboards as well, that have accidentally got permanent pen on them. also, some nail polish removers work. for the carper i am less sure - you could try "1001 spray" that has removed everything i have ever managed to spill on carpet - it is like magic, this foamy spray that you spray on and rub in, wait for it to dry and then vacuum. no idea how it workks but it does. or you could try "oxyclean stain dissolver" which my grandma uses to get out oil that my grandad has walked in from the garage. i hope that helps good luck

Try the following two suggestions... rubbing alcohol - dab the area with the water then pour on alchol dab - DO NOT RUB. Or try Vodka. Good luck! Try to get it done as soon as possible... the longer is sets the more absorbed it gets in the fibers of the carpet!
