would it be possible to have a big metal antenna on top of a car an drive around an open field during a thunder storm

Yes. It is also possible to have a stationary car with a giant antenna and have the thunderstorm move around it. In this case, you may substitute a tall building and lightning rod for the stationary car and antenna.

Yes, the rubber tires act as a bit of insulation. However, if the car was struck by lightning, or high tension wire, you might be wise to find something like a chain or heavy wire that you hook to your door and allow one end to fall to the pavement to help discharge the car. You don't want to step out of the car and discharge it yourself.

Of course! As long as you don't touch metal in the car, you won't be electrocuted. But watch out for mud! It a real "sticker!"

Your only grounded in the car if you are NOT touching anything metal inside also. Even though the rubber tires ground it, you could still be injured, killed.

Yea bc if the lighting its it, it will just spread around the car and into the ground from the tires.

Yes it would be possible.

A bit stupid perhaps, but anyway, provided all the doors are shut, the occupants would be well insulated, even if the atenna was struck.
