Yes, it's genetic and a roll of the dice. Some children can get their mothers blue eyes, while others get their fathers brown ones. It's just however the genetic stuff comes together when you are being made and it's one of those wonderful little things that makes us all different.

genatical isn't a word and it is possible for a woman to like a man that looks like her father or a man to like a woman who looks like his mother it would be because of genetics and marrying in to ones family over and over again which is now againist the law in the United States, cant marry closer than your like 5th cousin if i remember right

strange...I've been asking myself this one...but it was spelled right in my head...
My last boyfriend looked a LOT like my stepdad, who I have 'issues" with, and he even had a similar lifestyle- freaky -I know, ( he's my ex now o.k.) but I figured it may have been a subconscious way for me to resolve something? I even had some of the same issues with my ex as my step-dad. Neither appreciated my artsy side, just my athletic, and neither knew how to show simple affection, and both were angry pot heads...It was a little wierd...I felt like I was in my moms situation (without two kids) 28 years ago!!! Karma Resolution?

I know of no studies that point to any genetic link. It is, however, a very real sociological phenomenon. Heck I have been married to my wife for a long time .. she even has the exact same name as my mother!

Um, WHO does THAT?
I don't know where YOUR research comes from, but people AVOID that kinda stuff where I am.
But that would explain what a mac would have a hot babe nearby and say "Sit on Papa's lap."
*And for God's sake, hit CHECK SPELLING.

I think women prefer a man who "is like" their father, not one who "looks like" their father.
and I agree with Go HEAT, that would be weird.
I personally would go for a man that wasn't like my father, as much as I admire him.
