Fix the problem, not the blame. Don't waste your time and energy trying to figure out who is at fault. There will be time for reflection and process improvement once the problem has been alleviated.

My very favorite is the title of a Kenny Chesney song actually and it's simple: Be As You Are. It reminds me that no matter what I think I need to do, or what people expect of me, all I should do is be myself, and just live life. I also like Robert Frost's: The woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have miles to go before I sleep. That reminds me that even in my darkest moments, I still have so much to do in life, to keep moving, and never give up.

I have two favorites:
Hold fast to dreams by Langston Hughes, because it encourages you to always keep your dreams and passions in mind even when it may seem far fetched. Example: Bill Gates was born in an era where personal computers were impossible. He invented the idea and look at what i'm using to communicate with you!
My second fave is "Grab life by the lapels..." By Maya Angelou because it teaches you to take things into your own hands, to make things happen for yourself instead of depending on people.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight,
It's the size of the fight in the dog.
People would look at me, I'm a small female, about 5'3" and weigh about 125 and I'm a big rig driver. Well, I used to haul heavy equipment for a local construction company and I worked with all men. They never expected me to keep up with them on ANYTHING. They rode me hard for 2 weeks but I didn't quit, I did every job with a smile and did it well. They used to drink beer all day and lay black top. I kept up, wheelbarrel for wheelbarrel, beer for beer, load for load (I had to go to the plant for asphalt too) and they respected me. I was accepted. I was one of them. The owner of the company loved me, I will always have a job there. I love that quote.
There's alot of fight in this dog.

One of my faves:
PICK YOUR BATTLES.
It never meant much to me, until i was stuck in a really difficult job with a horrible boss. a friend/mentor told me to look at the big picture, that one day I would look back on it as a bad dream. but in the meantime, that I needed not get upset about everything my boss did (sexual harrassment included), and not waste my energy doing anything but interviewing and applying for other jobs.
that turned out to be the best advice b/c it helped calm me down and helped me focus!

It's hard to remember you came to drain the swamp when you are hip deep in alligators.
It's hard to keep going in your path of life with all the distractions.

" A lack of preperation on your part, does not constute an emergency on mine "
I don't know who saidit, but it helps me through work and family strife. Remaining calm while petty tiffs/spats surround you,, will help deffuse most problems.
