Hey, Seems that we have the same problem right, but the different is that I`m still in the first year of the A-Level student.
There is something that are crumbling in my mind from 4 months ago.
I always wait for my graduation, because I can`t wait any more longer to do my project. And I also demand in the genetic (we are the same). So I don`t mind if u want to taking over my future project.
My project is to cure cancer with chlorophyl.
That is the point. U just develop that idea.
By the way, may I know u more?

If you know anyone who is pregnant do some reasearch into their family and the genes that are dominant or recessive. Then make a predication for the baby. If that's not an option, check out local pet or livestock breeders and learn form them about animal husbandry and see if you can help in a project.

when i was in high school we made a model of a double helix, the shape of DNA. You could take it one step further and build a model of what a certain person's DNA would look like. For example what the DNA of a person with Down's Syndrome looks like compared to that of the average person. Good Luck with your project!

you could trace a trait through your family (such as eye color/hair color/handedness) and make a family tree that documents who has a recessive or dominant genes. I did it in high school and it's not too hard to tell how things get passed on from generation to generation.
otherwise you could create a double helix out of candy or something like that.

there is a gene (5HTTFPR i think) that has an effect on shyness, i had to do a project on it last fall. there are plenty of journal articles out there for it but i never found any books, so it might not do you any good if you need to have one or more sources from a book.

How about a paper on showing species diversity and genetic drift by looking at microsatellite differences. (it's really simplier than it sounds)

Why not read the texts your teachers have been teaching you, instead of expecting other people to do your homework? As you say, YOU need to do the research (or it won't do you any good)
