Bugs like the light, - they fly in there ... alive. and die.. eventually.

I think that you mean the enclosed "tight" fitting. Bugs can get into tight areas and since they are attracted to the light (except roaches and spiders--which is not a bug), they will crawl or fly into those areas where you don't want them to go and die there due to lack of sugar water, air, etc. (Incidentally, have you ever seen a rat/mouse go in a crack in the wall....I saw a footage of it and it's amazing how thin their bodies can get to fit into the crack.) Dead bugs just crawl through tiny openings to get to the light, of course! :-)

It's a cremation thing.
