Sadly enough there is a growing population of those that have affectionately gotten the name Pit Lizzards and many other colorful variations. Trust me, nothing irks my bubble more than to read a "yeah, he's my favurite driver b/c he is soooo cuuuuute..!!" Yes, those that do the sport just for the sex appeal of a driver. The sex appeal on this sport has grown to a massive amount and it just amazes me..
Now, I am sure I've smushed a few toes there, but trust me, I've seen a change in this sport. I remember a day I could go into the Pits and not have to worry about flying bras and flashing rear ends waiting for signatures. I remeber it being about the cars and the driver who could drive.
With that being said there are a lot of female fans just like me.. who watch for the sport and for the pure sport in it all. Heck, I was raised by one. She tought me to watch the Sport and has an appreciate for the SPORT. I've been to tracks with woman who outfan me. I started watching this sport long before I knew there was a difference between boys and girls. I watch the sport for everything it encompasses. I have a favorite sound.. want to know what it is? 43 cars firing up their engines and then 43 cars getting hte green flag and dropping that throttle. I love the sport and probably a bigger fan than most guys I know. I have surrounded myself with it more and more every year, and love learning all of the little tid-bits (past and present.) Do I know everything about the sport.. UHHH NO, but I sure would love to, LOL. To me, you are only a true fan when you can love the sport for the sport. Now, don't get me wrong.. I will openly admit that there is a certain driver I find gorgeous. Do I like him for his looks? NO! I would not own one piece of memorbilia if he couldn't drive..but since he can drive like all get out and has mad skills I'm not against throwing in the yeah, he's a great driver and can outrun anyone and oh by the way.. yeah, he's got the good looks on top of that. I'm an open person and will admit good look on males or females when I see them. Heck, I answered a question on Nascar wifes and thier looks. I will also pick on the goofy looking ones, but if I like them for their skills than it's just the same situation. Trust me, Happy's five head is a constant source of amusement to me, but I still like him as a driver. Jeff is a pretty boy (vomit..pretty boys do nothing for me) but he's still in my top two of drivers. So what I am saying is that to me a driver is always a driver first, and all the other things second, and I will comment on both of those. Good driver, bad driver, good looking, goofy looking..whatever, but in the end I know my sport and have a pretty comfortable feeling in knowing what I am talking about when it comes down the SPORT, and figure the rest is just an opinion (what's the quote..yeah, it's like a @$$hole everyone's got 'em!!!)

My answer would be B. I do think that my favorite driver is hot but I didn't start out watching NASCAR, I have been a motorsports fan for years and it started with NHRA, and most of those drivers are not hot. I love the sound of the engines, the vibrations in the stands of the speed on the track and the excitement of watching drivers compete for the win. I really only got into NASCAR when I went to work for the company that sponsors the #38 (M&M Mars), but I always knew who Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt and Jeff Gordon were.

I personally watch NASCAR because I love the sport of racing. I love the sound of the stock engines, the excitement and the thrill, and the drivers are all awesome to their fans! Female NASCAR fans are what have helped the sport progress over the years. Without us it would be just a bunch of men getting drunk and arguing over who can drive better.
Yes, some women root for their driver because they think he is hot but it got em interested in the sport and it has made NASCAR second to none. What other sport do fans show up 3 to 4 days early for an event, partly like its 1999 and not only wear their colors but decorate their houses in em?

I am a female nascar fan, and i believe that some females watch the races for the enjoyment and the excitement of the cars. It may be a coincidence that a lot, I mean A LOT, of the drivers are hot. Men are allowed to be both hot and talented, right? I know that sometimes seems impossible. They are usually one or the other.

I say for the most part it's A...I don't know a female that I hang out with that could list the top ten in the chase right now...I love racing becuase it's all I've ever done...I live 10 minutes from 2 dirt tracks and worked the pits as a teenager growin up. But women are a large part of NASCAR and it's history they may be behind the scenes but they help keep it running.

Female NASCAR fans watch the sport for various reason. There is really little difference between women fans and guy fans. Of course, the women are going to rate the drivers a little bit different, but so what? Many of them are keen enough to know who is good and who is not. Cut them some slack, we need women fans too.

I am a female nascar fan. I know more about it than my husband.I love the sport of racing. On saturday nights we always go to the local track and watch them race. I am the one that every one of my friends and family call when they have a question about racing. I love to read and watch everything about stock car racing.It's the best thing in world to follow.

most women like a driver because of his looks or popularity notice i said most but not all i have been around racing most of my life and all i hear is how hot or how good looking a driver is and that's why a lot of women like drivers this doesn't mean i dislike women fans in racing because i really don't mind it but for the reasons they have for liking a driver is what i disagree with what happened to the ability of drivers or just their ability to just flay out driver a race car ? wheres nascar going now days?

im a female nascar fan and i agree wit all the above while i luv jimmie johnson and everyone on his crew i know everything bout all the drivers just not him i luv the sport and everything about it
