What are seeds?
A seed is a client that has a complete copy of the data of a certain torrent. Once your BitTorrent client finishes downloading, it will remain open until you click the Finish button (or otherwise close it). This is known as being a seed or seeding.

So once your donwload is finished, it will automatically make you as a seeder and starts seeding. that means, you have downloaded the whole movie, game, music and ... and now other downloaders can download it from you.

read this too:

What are leechers?
A leecher is a client that is currently downloading a torrent. Generally a leecher does not have the complete file, otherwise it would be called a seed.

So: while you are downloading, some other people are also downloading the same thing from you, in this case you are called Leecher. Once your download is done completely and you have the whole thing, so you will vbe called Seeder

When downloading from P2P networks, it is polite to allow other people to download what you have already downloaded (thats how p2p works). Seeding means you are allowing other people (including the RIAA) to download portions of the files from you.

Leeching means downloading without seeding, and is a good way to get banned from most P2P services.

Of course seeding illigal content will get you letters from Lawyers asking for money.
