Since 1970, Italy has made the World Cup Final match once every 12 years:
1970 (loss to Brazil)

= 1982 (win over W. Germany)

= 1994 (loss to Brazil).

Final in 2006? Very possible. I am a fan of the Azzurri, so I hope so. Plus, I'm going to the Final and that match and an Azzurri victory would be a dream come true!
Against Brazil? Most likely.
Will they beat Brazil? Yes! The third time's the charm!

Coach Lippi is a tactical master, and Italian team is a well-known bad performer against 'minor' opponent. Against Czech and Ghana Italy plays well, against USA and Australia they were unimpressive. Lippy has lose 2 match only as Italian coach. The opponent were the not-so-mighty Iceland (his very first match, friendly) and Slovenia (preliminaries to WC). Now he never lose in the last 22 match, official and friendly. The last friendly match before WC tournament were against Germany (4-0) Holland (3-1) Cote d'Ivoire (1-1) Ukraine (0-0). You can easily spot I'm saying the truth: Italy has a dangerous match today, then the next will be the kind they are best fitted. Of course I couldn't be sure in a win against Germany or Argentina, but it would be a great match.
At Brazil side, I guess they need to play at maximum care against France. I give each of them 50% chances each to win.
I'm not so much impressed from Brazil. It seems as they are hiding their game tactics, and It could be they're too weak in defense if they're massively attacking.
And now, let's see what happens today.

brazil... the team italy put up for this world cup is somewhat more concerned with looking good whenever they play. have you ever seen the movie zoolander? look at del piero...all those years a poster boy with not so great results whenever it came to games that mattered. im afraid that italy still tries to emphasise the the chinaggli effect without the chinaggli skills. sad to say the only player who really emulated this persona for italy was Roberto Baggio... even if he srewed up in the world cup finals in 94. brazil plays with finesse confidence and are humble when they compliment each other on the pitch....

Italy can actual win the international cup.
