Norton is a nightmare because it takes to many resources out of your machine. Some other antivirus even cover more protection features and work better and smoother. Try for example Kaspersky 6 (you can download a trial version).

If you need a decent on-line scan, then you can resort to Bitdefenders site. They have a pretty good online version for scanning your machine. Even if you get a good antivirus, its not a bad idea to run their test once in a while.

Best of luck.

Hi

For the flickering problem try to update your graphics drivers. Once its updated hopeful the flickering will be gone.

As for the virus never use AVG anti virus. Buy Norton System works or Mcafee Anti Virus which comes with firewall and is capable of stopping any kind of virus.
(Note: Never forget to update your anti virus as there are new viruses every now and then)

hope these remedies will solve your problem

sounds like you have a problem with either your monitor or your graphics card to be honest. AVG is a very good antivirus program so it will have removed the trojan totally :) but i would try to figure out whether you need a new graphics card or a new monitor:)
Oh and don't use Norton(like the guy above says) it sucks big time if you want to get a paid for anti virus get McAfee from ebay will only set you back about £8.

avg isnt strong enough to fight your trojan
u need to purchase security software and perhaps call your manufacturer to reboot your whole system in safe mode
but first try to
use system restore thru your control panel option
and send computor back to date in time when you didnt have these problems
however the trojan may prevent you from doing so
then use the earier options i first gave you

good luck
