Ask at your local fancy dress shop if they have any genuine vintage stuff (most do), or how about looking at the kid's tv programmes that were out and going as a character from one of them, that's always good for a laugh. :) Or if you want more subtle (and probably easier to do depending on the film), go for a character from a 60s film.

I think going like Austin Powers is a great idea!!! The outfit would be easy to create as well, a simple brown wig and very colourful clothes with that symbol around his neck on a chain!

get fishnets or ripped leggins and a poofy tutu; it seems lovable, thats what im doing for halloween. positioned on severe tops and a colourful punky shirt, its extremely extremely lovable =]
