Because they have sponging mouthparts, house flies cannot bite.

Houseflies don't bite. However there is another
fly, called the stable fly, which looks very much
like a house fly and definitely does bite. The
scientific name of the housefly is Musca domestica
the stablefly is Stomoxys calcitrans. The stable
fly seems to be attracted to any unusual object in
the environment, especially near the ground. This
is why they often bite on the feet or ankles. Whether they bite more often before rain I don't
know, but it is quite possible. Insect repellent
seems to have no effect on them at all, unfortunately.

I don't know why, but they do, I am not so sure they are actually 'biting' though? but since I was a kid, right before a rain storm came the flies would bite. So yes it is true, and strange!

They may bite first ,but I know for sure they puke on everything that they eat , allowing them easy digestion.

In my experience, you bet they do. It has to do with humidity and low pressure systems from what I understand.
