The issue is largely irrelevant because of the all-volunteer army - those who have signed up but see this war as unjust, must resort to civil disobedience and take the consequences for breaking their contractual obligation. Churches cannot offer asylum in a legal sense. Conscientious objection on religious ground has been sanctioned in our country for most of the twentieth century.
But a denomination may certainly find any war to be "just" or "unjust" in religious doctrine, and is being morally consistent with Christian principles in supporting such soldiers if they take the position that this is not a just war. They may equally find this or any war to be a just one, and decline to offer support to conscientious objectors.
Would a church offering support to those unwilling to serve in the South African Army during the days of apartheid been "wrong"? How about a German church sanctioning or helping deserters or draft resistants during WWII? Making moral judgment on a war or war in general is, thankfully, a right that we have preserved in the US.

Not wanting to fight in an unjustified war is hardly supporting traitors. The traitors are the ones who send them there.

They're not traitors because they dont wanna die for a greedy cause. A patriot is someone who stands up for whats right, and shines the spotlight on corrupted or inadequate leaders.

since there is no mandatory draft for this war - then these soldiers have decided to receive the benefits of being in the military (education , health benefit, salary etc.) and refuse to fulfill their obligation to the military and to the country.
a soldier cannot decide which war he wants to fight in
the church is aiding and abetting an illegal act
