Depending on whether or not it is on the inside or the outside, the procedures are different. If it is on the outside, they will lance it, if it is on the inside, they may take a piece of it first, (a biopsy),(usually via a needle of some sort) to see if it is cancerous, or they will cut open the teste, where the cyst is (a small incision, for a small cyst, large one for a large one), and remove it.

Either way, be sure to clean and dress it exactly as they tell you, to prevent infection.

They will do a sonogram or ultrasound. Then could do aspiration biopsy where they insert a needle to aspirate a sample of it and sent for pathology to see if it's malignant or benign and what type of cell it is.

Maybe you should ASK them before you make the appointment.
