It's a good idea. The question is: Is there one already? How do you supply yourself with product? Are you going high end? I mean, London is huge, but with that, so is the rent... you need to price out the market. But, overall... great idea.

daiunus has the right idea - research it from a cost - profit view point. Get or borrow a good book about starting your own business and do the calculations. Also visit all the shoe stores in the area and see what you are up against. London had the highest rents in the world I am told so it is going to be tough to carve out a market. But if you have a good plan and something to make you stand out from others it will work.
