Having trained to be a goalie for the USA soccer team in 88, I can honestly say America does not have the history to ever win the cup. The reason it will take more time then Americas have. America’s sports all go one direction forward and have definite designed spots to play etc. Although Americas football goes backward for short distance and so does basketball there is a limit as to how far you go back. Soccer as you know uses the whole filled. The second is in regards to position. American struggle with the concept of being able to fluently transfer from on spot to another spot on the filled as no Americas sport has such a concept in the flow of the game. Even if the player grasp this concept to keep it up the transition while maintaining the “triangle” needed in passing is hard.
As America will stay dominate in America football as this is the sport everyone grown up with so to Soccer will continue to elude America until more people learn to play it correctly and teach to children correctly, etc. So we may some day win but do not hold you breathe as it will not be in your or my life time.

Nope. Sorry, but nobody in the States really cares about soccer/football enough. Heck, golf is more popular. Without public opinion supporting them, more training at home, and a strong American league drawing talent from across the country (even away from American Football or Basketball), the American team is small-fry.

Not now since they got knocked out of the World Cup already.
Bruce Arena is too conservative of a coach - sometimes in the world cup, you need to be a bit more aggressive.

Maybe theres a chance, but not anytime soon. "Soccer" is the fastest growing sport among American kids and when Americans turn their hand to something, they want to be the best at it.

they don't have a chance unless they get some European players. the womans team would have a better chance at winning in this wc then the men.
