Well, first thing that would come to my mind if she/he is the person I would like to spend the time with. Because, believe it or not appearance plays a role but not a major one, especially if you're thinking long-term relationship whether its romantic or platonic.

a million. when I see a warm guy i imagine wow he's somewhat warm. I notice if they are well groomed and whether that response is in balance with the venue in which I am meeting them. I also question their intelligence and wait until they speak as one can often gauge a rough estimate of intelligence and interest in a person through their mastery of spoken language.
sometimes though... i just think "how do I know that person?"

"I wonder if this guy can have an adult conversation?" I've dated alot of loosers that can't seem to talk higher than a 9th grade level, conversation is important to me, so this is my biggest question.
