Living in California has overwelmed me with a constant flow of what causes earthquakes. The surface of the earth is like a puzzle floating on a semi liquid sub surface as the edges of these plates either rub along each other or dive over and under they do not do it smoothly. Some times as this happens the are3 stuck then as the move again this is the sudden jolt as the constant pressure is aleays building up.
