French is a very elegant, sensual language. One of my favourites.
Can be tricky to learn but well worth it. Once you've got the basics it gets easier and compare the different dialects can be a lot of fun
For all the people saying French people are arrogant or pompous, they're not. I think they just get fed up with ignorant English speaking tourists going over there and making no attempt to speak their language.
They make the effort for us, why can't we for them?

I think it is a beautiful, lyrical language. It is more difficult to spell correctly than Spanish. I took it for five years and learned to read it easily, but then when I went to France I couldn't understand anyone! It was still a pleasure to listen to, though.

It's an ugly language. I never liked anything about the French. THEY think they're great, so I just let them be alone with that opinion.

It has to be a heck of a lot easier to learn than Japanese or Mandarin for a native English speaker.

I heard it is the easiest to learn, that's why they teach it in a lot of elementary's here. I took french in first grade.

It's a very pretty language, but the referring to every inanimate object as either him or her drives me nuts!
