go to yahoo avatar erase your current avatar and make a new one. You'll have the option to pick the gender.

To change your avatar's gender:
Go to the My Avatar page at http://avatars.yahoo.com.
Click the "Preferences" tab.
Select the desired gender in the "Change My Avatar's Gender" section.

its just very simple.create your avatar again by going to your mail and clicking on your avatar.then enter male.
