The U.S. put him in and now wants him out.
His honesty, decency, sincerity and dignity serve to highlight the duplicity of those he has to work with, including the U.S.A.

The U.S. kicked out the previous incumbent, Boutros Boutros-Ghali, at the insistence of Israel, simply because he was Arab and they put Annan forward and got him "elected". Much of the UN is corrupt and votes can easily be bought.
But thanx for all replies - they show me the extent of American dislike for the man.

Ah, Kofi. Before being SG, Kofi was in charge of UN peacekeeper forces. While there he kept getting urgent messages from the UN troops in Rwanda. He promptly ignored them, and 800,000 people were brutally murdered. What a hero Kofi is.

And in reviewing the atrocities in Darfur, Kofi has seen no genocide, despite over 1,000,000 blacks being killed by the Arab Muslim government and its agents. Heck, he has no problem with Sudan being on the UN Human Rights commission. And, he seems to have no problem with the fact that over $25 billion was kicked back to Saddam in the UN Oil-for-Blood Money scandal.

So, as far as I can see, Kofi is a typical useless tea-sipping corrupt and uncaring sack of manure.

That's why Clinton loved him so much. So alike.

I'm sure there was after all Annan hasn't done anything to help in Sudan. He says what is taking place is "near genocide". He needs to step in and help the nations that have been pleading for U.N help.
