SAM is correct and the end of the cartoon Wilie held up a sign that said ok I caught him now what do I do. or something to that effect. so yes he caught him once.
Side note - this was done because of a petition that circulated for nearly 20 years with over 10 million names making the suggestion he get to catch him once. The petition was started by the motorcycle group the Hell's Angels in 1971.

i'm sorry to bust the other wrong answers if the coyote did catch the roadrunner a few years back, however if you saw the cartoon while chasing the roadrunner he ran through a series of pipes which got smaller and smaller when he exited he caught the roadrunner however the roadrunner was about ten thousand times bigger than he was.
