I'm not talking clocks here, people. If you don't know what I mean, don't bother answering.

Does it tap into your sub-conscious or something similar? I have one and it fascinates me, I want to know more about them.

And what does it mean exactly when you ask a question and it starts doing elipses or great big circles?

And don't bother calling me a satanist or something similar, I'm not worshiping anything.

Okay, I know how to ask it questions, and when I have it show me my yes/no, it moves in straight back and forth lines. So do circles/elipses, as I interpret them, mean uncertainty?

I guess the question is where to answers come from?

A pendulum is a tool one uses for getting answers to questions of many different kinds. Like a scrying mirror, a crystal ball and stuff like that... The power is within the individual but people like to use objects to make it more acceptable, easier or stronger for them...
You first ask the pendulum a simple yes-or-no questions if you want to use it in this way... Like: am I a man? Am I a woman? Then you know if circles are yes or no and if side-to-side-motions are yes or no... Then you ask the question you have in mind and you will get your answer... Just know that if your mind is strong you can influence the outcome ;)

A simple gravity pendulum or bob pendulum (plural pendulums or pendula), is a weight on the end of a rigid rod (or a string/rope), which, when given an initial push, will swing back and forth under the influence of gravity over its central (lowest) point.

The pendulum was discovered by Ibn Yunus al-Masri during the 10th century, who was the first to study and document its oscillatory motion. Its value for use in clocks was introduced by physicists during the 15th century.

Pendulums (these may be a crystal suspended on a chain, or a metal weight) are often used for divination and dowsing. There exist many different techniques. One widely used form is the following. The user will first determine which direction (left-right, up-down) determines "yes" and which "no," before proceeding to ask the pendulum specific questions. In another form of divination, the pendulum is used with a pad or cloth that may have yes and no, but also other words written in a circle. The person holding the pendulum aims to hold it as steadily as possible over the center. An interviewer may pose questions to the person holding the pendulum, and it swings by minute unconscious bodily movement in the direction of the answer. In the practice of radiesthesia a pendulum is used for medical diagnosis. However all these uses of pendulums are not scientifically tested or supported.

I have a crystal pendulum that I keep on a necklace, I think it's drawn to energy. Like I can use it to find things and I can make it spin in the direction I want it to without moving my hand, it's just the energy you project that the crystal can reflect. It very often swings towards water, like pipes or radiators or something. Anything with a powerful flow of energy, it can follow powerlines etc..

A pendulum answers questions. How? Quite simply, a pendulum react to your subconscious mind. When held properly, the pendulum will react to very small nerve reactions in your fingers that are generated by your unconscious mind in response to a question poised. Different nerve reactions will be detected depending on what your subconscious mind knows.
