Black smoke means you're running too rich, and there's many reasons this could be happening. If it's bluish/grey, it's oil. Saturn has a problem with their oil control rings clogging. You can get some GM TEC and soak the piston rings, there's a helpful guide on www.saturnfans.com. They can also answer many other Saturn related questions.

Black smoke = too much fuel......White smoke =water in cylinders.......Blue smoke = burning oil.

Running too rich. Air/fuel ratio is not right. Too much fuel.

or your burning oil like mad...that would mean an engine rebuild..or new engine altogether.
