Are you sure a lot of people think that way about Totti? I think we watch football/soccer just for the game, not so much for suspicious actions from the players. And just a sign of friendliness is considered to be gay?

Hey, wait a sec! Why the hostility? Is this some slight homophobia I'm sensing? Calm down. This guy obviously can't control these feelings he has for you (however, his actions are another thing). He doesn't have a mental problem, he's just very frustrated he's in love with a man who he knows he will never love. Have you ever been in love with a girl you could never get? You know how frustrating that is, right? Anyhow, I think you should sit down and talk to this guy. Tell him that you feel uncomfortable, not offended, by his frequent texting and conduct. Tell him that you feel very sorry of these circumstances, and that you understand what he's going through, but that you and him cannot be together as a couple. Comfort him, don't push him away or you might make it worse (who knows, you might end up with a lawsuit for prejudice, which is a hate crime). Be calm and collected, not angry and hostile. If he really is harassing you so much that it interferes with your work and he persists after you talk to him, talk to a superior of yours and tell him of this problem. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT PHYSICALLY ASSAULT HIM OR YOU MAY REGRET IT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. These aren't the sixties, pal. IMO, you should feel flattered, not offended, that a gay man finds you attractive. That's a good sign.
