Content Management Systems are like Documentum before they were acquired by EMC.

I use a content management system to run my own site. It's a system called JOOMLA! and it is quite incredible! Basically a content management system is a system of scripts, php & html in the case of Joomla!, designed to take the guess work out of running a content-rich site. By introducing an easy to use point and click web interface, it is extremely easy for even the novice to have a great, professional looking site featuring loads of content.

Because I personally use Joomla! I heavily recommend it. Many web hosting providers provide systems like Joomla! as free bonuses or as upgrades to their plans. My own hosting company, mxdwebservice.com, offers more than 10 content management systems, including Joomla!, with each and every plan for free.

I also recommend you spend a little time in some of the forums available to you about the subject. Go to joomla's home page and look around, ask a few questions, and look around at other peoples content sites, like mine ;) , so you can get an idea of what it can do for you.

Hope this all helps! Good luck!
