Americans are brainwashed from an early age, as are we all. Complete the following
" I pledge allegiance to... " every morning at school.
I have travelled to Many countries on several Continents and can assure you that there are better places to live than the USA. But you will find it hard to find an American that would agree with me.
Drive through the States and you can't go more than a mile without seeing a US flag. Patriotism is great and you should be proud of your country. But you should keep your individuality and think for yourself every now and then. I think Americans Don't understand that they also belong to a bigger picture called Humanity and struggle to decipher between a news program and a shoot em up movie. Every now and then they should ask themselves, is what we are doing Right? Not have we written a law that makes this legal. I guess people turn a blind eye because they don't know how to think for themselves and it doesn't effect them, so why be bothered. But be warned some day it may be you that is being given a unfair deal and don't expect others to treat you any differently. P.S. This doesn't mean I think they should release all the prisoners but some transparency would be nice so that we can make an educated decision. Not just follow blindly.

We're not turning a blind eye, President Bush's supporters see that he is finally addressing the issues that were not taken care of in the previous administration. The vote wasn't rigged, for god sakes people get the hell over it. We won in spite of the "voting irregularities".

It is called the BOW system of government - The best of the worst!

You can only vote for the people who are standing for election. Tragically most of them appear entirely unsuited to represent them by most people but someone has to be elected to run the country!

Bush was not elected in either election. His brother is gov of FL and his cousin was the one on Fox news who said there was a mistake. He paid to win both terms.

It's incredibly discouraging to me as well.

W and Karl Rove did a brilliant thing. They totally "got out the vote" from their base by getting that gay marriage amendment on the ballot. People within his base who might have felt disgruntled because of the economy, Iraq, lost jobs and dropping wages, etc., came out in droves to vote for him -- just to "save marriage."

That, and I wonder about those Diebolt voting machines. I was living in Ohio in 2004. My county was HUGELY going for Kerry, so we were all baffled by how things ended up.

Because he is much better than the alternative.

At least Bush tries to protect the USA and what it stands for.

Clinton was more interested in 'protection' for his interns.
