The Americans who elected Bush are no more thick than the people in the UK who elected T.Blair.
They both gained power on pre-election mandates. Yet the moment they were safely elected the mandates were replaced by the real agenda.
I have been able to vote in this country for more than 30 years, yet I have not done so yet. I saw all politicians for what they are no matter their party allegience.
Democracy is hypocracy.

You could say that about any Country, like why are we so thick to elect our Prime Minister or any others in the past. Without the majority voting (which it is the majority that counts) then someone else would have been voted in. Did you vote?, also y'ou have to be in it to win it ' applies to all manner of things. They cannot be that thick to have thought about the future's consequences to have voted in the first place and to know what they have voted for because it affected them directly on the outcome!

Their education system is pretty bad, their standards are low and overall they are constantly brainwashed by the powerful and the media, as well as Hollywood.
Many of them are also brainwashed a second time by religious organisations and tend to be fanatical idiots - and proud of it.
Such self-destructive tendencies lead to more irrational acts.
And by the way, they elected G. W. Bush only once. In 2000 he was not elected and swindled his way into the White House by bullying (or bribing) the Supreme Court into a 5:4 vote for him. (Actually, it was his father who did the bullying, since he had appointed most of the judges when he was in office.)

They did not elect him.
The votes counted gave the victory to Al Gore.
Bush then discounted votes from minorities he did not like 7 thus ended up with more of the vote.
Al Gore, a gentleman, chose not to make a fuss for the good of the country (how embarrassing to shout "Cheat" on TV in front of 400 million people).

Who says we ever elected him? Did you not hear of that the elections were fixed? For sure he lost in 2000, but his brother is the Governor of the state of Florida where they found a way of discounting enough democratic votes to give Florida's electoral votes to Bush. There were also stories told by voters that, on computerized voting machines, they entered Gore as their candidate and the computer switched automatically to Bush. Lots of dirty dealing. The shame is that we sit back and allow him to stay in the Oval Office.

Why is anybody so thick as to believe that the american people, or any region of voters for that matter, actually have full control over who is elected and who isn't.
The govt. keeps sp many secrets, most to protect us, and we are completely unaware of the goings-on, how the hell could we be trusted to know who should run the country???
It's already decided before elections. Think about it.

And the other choices were Al Gore in 2000 or John Kerry in 2004.

Because President Bush is the best person for the job. We were sick to death of the liberal nuts that were in power for the previous administration. We were tired of terrorist attacks on Americans over and over and over again and not a damn thing being done about it. The past President lied directly to the American public, he lied to a Grand Jury. He had the morals of a dog and personally I felt he was in embarrassment. We were tired of the cover ups,the thievery, and the rampant disrespect for the position itself. I could go on and on, but it really gets my blood boiling when I think of that bastard and his cronies.

Most Americans did not vote for him, it's sad but less than half of Americans vote, and less than half of those that did vote voted for Bush. He was elected by a small majority of small minded people who believe the propaganda that republicans spew forth before elections.
