1. Medical expenses: Medical care for mother and child is a potentially significant expense facing new parents. The cost of delivering a new baby can range from $5,000 to $8,000 for a vaginal delivery to more than $12,000 for a cesarean delivery. If there are complications, those costs can increase dramatically. Even if your child is in perfect health, new babies require numerous well-visit checkups and immunizations.

Oh yeah and that's not including the cost of your obgyn visits for the first nine months. You'll have to call around and find one that will accept cash. I know that sounds crazy but usually they want the whole thing paid up front, or half now and half during the 9 months. Oh and..........if the baby is a boy the circumcision cost extra.

Good luck

Why don't you have health insurance? In Michigan if you are pregnant & can't not afford to pay for insurance than in most cases you can get state medical insurance to cover the cost. But to answer your question ~ In Michigan premature births cost $58,000 a child, compared to $4,300 for a healthy birth

It's a lot...esp if something is wrong or you or the baby has to be kept there for any reason. I would try to get state insurance or something. Good luck!

Alot! My Dr. gave me a sheet telling me the price of del. but by the time you get out of the hospital its way more between medicine they give to meals for u and the baby! They get u either way, if u have no insurance apply for state assistance and they usually cover it all!
