Absolutely!
If an announcer is going to attempt pronunciation in the "Latino" way he should be speaking that language. Otherwise he makes himself appear stupid!

I guess not everyone has your talent but at least there are those who make an attempt to speak correctly, it is far better to try and fail than never to attempt.
You advocate losing as a way of life, who is the idiot?

i think it's disrespectful to not even attempt to say a name correctly. even if it's not exactly correct, at least they are trying to honor that person's heritage and culture. it really agrevates me more when they say latino words and names in the english pronunciation. it's like nails on a chalkboard.

I think everyone must be called as his name really is.
In Italian Rooney 'said as I read it' become Rohonay
Croutch became Kroh-oo-tt-ch
Barthez become bartetz
Malouda - Maloh-oo-da
Schneider - Sknaaidaarr
Lawrence (T&T) La-v-rr-aa-nchaa
What the hell? Your opinion is I need hear something as that when watching TV?

The attempt alone is laudable. They are making efforts to pronounce the name correctly, and that, to me, is far better than knowingly mispronouncing it.

I dont mind how they say names on t.v. What worries me is whether the announcers on railway stations are speaking in Earth dialects.
