what you need to stop is the habit - the nicotine withdrawal aspect is severely over rated and i honestly believe that the drug company's are brainwashing us so they can sell product.. It's not that bad. How do i know this ? 12/19/96 i had my last cigarette. Prior to that i had been a 2 pack a day/20 + years non -filter Camel smoker. If anybody was addicted to nicotine it was me. I honestly expected to go through this really nasty - curl yourself int a fetal position and throw up often position- and it never happened. Granted I didn't feel great But I've had bouts with the Flu that made me feel a lot worse.
The problem is the habit. all of those things you do with a cigarette
having a couple drinks ..light one up................. can't do that anymore
just wake up ......................light one up '' '' '' '' '
Just got laid........................light one up no can do on the cigarette part
got along drive all by your lonesome ...... light one up
and the one i still miss, coffee and cigarettes Man if there were ever two things that went together
But you do it and you gain weight because smoking is an oral fixation
But you do it.. The first month IS hard but every month after that gets a little easier. The price for not doing it is well known.
Good Luck

Tell everyone you're a smoker. Then they won't be policing you, and then quit cold turkey. If it doesn't work the first time, just keep trying. Every time you quit your non-smoking time should get longer until one day you realise you just don't need it anymore. Oranges help to take the craving away, also tomatoes, peppermints and chewing gum. But the strongest ally you can have in quitting smoking is your own will. Think of the benefits of not smoking - a longer life, not having to take off to the shops at all hours to buy smokes, i.e. freedom, money in the pocket, healthy children, untainted wallpaper, fresh smelling house and clothes. All the best, just do it!
