My earlier response (when you asked this question before) indicated that different IQ tests have different scales of measurement.

So if you know someone with an IQ of 228 and you want to know what that means, you need to find out what instrument was used to give them that number. Then find out what percentile that puts them in. Or--perhaps simpler--ask them what percentile their IQ is in, rather than what their "score" is.

The only time I had an "official" IQ test done, my score was around 140. But my score was also the highest possible on that (widely respected and widely used) test, placing me in the top 1%. A score of 228 must have been given by a different testing instrument, and you need more information before you know anything about what it means.

get in touch with Mensa (www.mensa.org) which is a society for people with IQs over 150 - they have their own tests
