I have connected a printer to my Vigor 2600 router using the USB port on the router but how do I connect to the printer if I don't know what IP address has been assigned to it?

Chances are the router acts as a print server if it's only connecting to the printer via USB. You'll want to check the router configuration for print server settings. It's either going to assign a secondary IP address for the print server, or it's going to use it's own IP address (in which case the IP address is going to be the same as your default gateway).

Check the manual.

Hi, I don't know what printer you are using if you are using HP. Then pls follow the steps

1. On the printer, press the Menu toggle button one click to the RIGHT.
* This will display the "Information Menu" in the printer display window.
2. Press the Item toggle button two clicks to the RIGHT.
* This will display "Print Configuration" in the printer display window.
3. Press the Select button.
* This will print out the configuration of that specific printer.
4. Obtain the printout and locate a line called "HP JetSend Address."
* Alternately, on the JetDirect Configuration Page (page 2 of the printout) will display a line called "IP Address."
* This should be a number like 134.129.xxx.xxx

Having your printer server built into your router, you should be able to access it thru th router's start page. Type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar on your browser. If you have not modified the router the default user\password will be admin\admin.
