I have heard that too. But it isn't a true whale, rather a killer whale that is a different species from a dolphin but in the same family. When I went to visit the marine park in Hawaii (Oahu) there was a hybrid trained Wholphin that performed. Here is a link about it.

I assume you mean intercourse for pleasure and not just for breading purposes. I have learnt that dolphins do have sex for pleasure and I recall that they are supposed to be the only species, other than man to do so. As for whales doing it for pleasure. I'm not sure.

well both animals have to reproduce and there both conisered mammals. dolphins however, are the only other animal besides humans that have sex for pleasure. and another fun fact is they usually only have sex for a few seconds several times a day.
