i have a mazda miata 99, and just 2 weeks ago while reversing out of my driveway, it stoped and shut off, i tried to re-start and it didnt, it made a clicking noise. so the next day i went to buy a battery, i put it on but i noticed it was to big. when i saw the recept it was for a millenium. so then i returned it and got the right one. then a few days later, now when i start the car or backup it SHAKES in a crazy way, also when im at stop lights or stops. What is wrong with my car. let me know. it SHAKES and makes a noise while it Shakes. DANG IT!!!! 63,456 miles, new oil and everything.

From what you are describing it sounds like your engine is misfiring. When you replaced your battery did you remove an engine sensor connector and forget to plug it back in? Same with any vacuum lines. It could be coincidental and you may have a plug or 2 fouled out. Check the plug wires and make sure they are tight on the plugs. If all that looks OK then take it to a reputable repair shop and have them check it out.

It's not your alternator, because usally bad alternators keep draining the battery.

To me it sounds like Your Injectors are bad, when they are bad it will cause the car to seem like your battery died out, with a click noise when you turn the key.....it can also cause the car to shake if the fuel isn't getting a proper flow, and can eventually stop running.. A clogged fuel filter can cause improper fuel flow as well.

Check your fuel filter first, a bad flow of fuel can cause it to sputter and shake, plus it's cheap and easy to change..... it should he just under the passager care door....and might look like a small canaster. If not that I would have the injectors checked out (can be very pricey). Another resort It also can be your Crankshaft needs a new gasket that can cause a grining like noise and shaking.

It could be many things...... I would have a dianostic reading if it wasn't the fuel filter, so save money.

This could really be a LOT of things causing this - check around the battery and under it as well, make sure you didn't unhook something by accident, or not get all the wires hooked back up to the battery. Look for wires and or hoses.

If you can't find a loose wire or something like that then sorry to say you need to have a mechanic take a look at it ..

sounds like if its an automatic trans, you might have problems with the lock up solenoid or valve body. this can cause the car to shake and die in a forward or reverse gear if thats the only time this is happening. have your trans checked.

it could be you have a fouled plug or a plug wire that is either not connected or shorted out.
