What is the best treatment for pedophile; incarceration, psychological treatment, or both?

Incarceration. There is no therapy that can change a pedophile's sexuality. Cognitive behavioral therapy and constant supervison can help, but it is not a cure. Pedophiles are a danger to our communities. The amount of victims that a pedophile has before they get caught is stagering.

My father has to deal with these sorts of people all the time as he's a police officer. Basically, theres no kind of medicine or therapy that cures pedophilia. Sometimes its an illness and sometimes its not, what generally happens is the prisons send in a therapist or psychologist to find out. The person will get therapy, however they still committed a crime and have to serve their time. If they go on parole, they get a sort of drug that kills the sex drive and urges, but doesn't cure pedophilia. Its more of a preference, like many prefer men or women or like blonds over brunettes. Theres nothing to really fix, you just can't do it. Hopefully this answers your question.

I think they are sick and disgusting, repeat offenders or not. Anyone who can touch or harm small children should never see the light of day again. Too many times they're released and do it again, treatment just does nor work
