The pros and cons depends upon certain factors like type of industry, type of customer base, product, service etc. Pros are that the employee get good time to complete their other activities and satisfy their family needs and coem fresh to job on next mondays. The cons are that the company get less nos of man hours, may have to develop extra resources to serve it s custoemr better, to look after its operation etc. That's why we see that sevice industry do not have 5 days a week job so do maufacturing industry in India. The cons are that women work 5 days at work and 7 days at home. Women should only have to work 4 days and men 6 days. Women get paid less anyway . Yes, I am a little bitter.

You are lucky if you find a place to work that only wants you 5 days a week. In my industry, it's a lucky week if I get 2 days off... and not in a row. The only bad part of working 5 days a week is it is usually Mon-Fri.. and you are off Sat and Sun, which are usually the same days as the appointments you need to make for your personal needs. Good Luck!

Most jobs are listed for 5 days/week.
You'd get full salary and full benefits (some places pro-rate the benefits based on the number of days/week you work).
You have two days off to take care of personal business.
Con: If you only have weekends off, it's sometimes hard to get your personal business done - other places might be closed.

I preferred working 4--10 hr shifts, I am a woman, I went to work at 3.30 pm got off at 2:00 am, it was nice having friday, sat. sun. till monday afternoon off it was almost like a vacation every week, then we went to 8 hr shifts, no one liked that , didn't get near as much work out, so they changed back. Then when I went on days, I worked 9 hour shifts & 4 hours on friday, it was ok. I always liked the 10 hr shifts best.

pros - set schedule. you know how to work around your schedule, you already know what days you get off in advance. There are really no cons unless you don't want to work or have something coming up in advance that you can't get out of.

If you are working for yourself, a five day work week is twice as beneficial because you create your own schedule. If you are working for someone else, you can easily miss out on life because someone else is in control of your time.

You know you will have at least two days to do what you want with some money coming in to help fund it.
