That sounds a bit unusual, dock leaves usually calm it down. I would go to your nearest good pharmacist and ask their advice. There are creams (in Uk one called "Antisan") that might help. If the tingling gets any worse or is still there is 24 hours, consult your GP.
You might have an allergy to nettles? Are you sure it was just nettles that stung you and not a wasp in the nettles eg?
Hope it gets better soon.

As a Gardener, I have taken the bull by the horns and hand weeded nettles with bare hands. Formic Acid which does the stinging is the same as that for wasps. The only difference is the strength.
It is a great sensation pulling up nettles with the hands, try it.

Dock leaves stop the irritation and calm down the swelling. They can normally be found close by to stinging nettles.

Rub the affected area with aloe vera juice or aloe vera gel (available at health food store). Then drink a humongous shot of good quality whiskey and just let nature take its course.
But seriously... aloe vera will help, but nettles are no big thang, it just takes about a day for the nettle poison to work its way through, then you're fine again.

Calamine lotion can usually calm down the stinging, try it! I often have used Calamine lotion on nettle stings, and the good old trusty Dock leaf trick works, but either will do!

If you are near home and can not find any dock leafs , just rub some vinegar on the stings.

Yes a dock leaf will do the trick if you can find one, and aloe vera gel will also help to soothe the stinging sensation.

Piriton syrup from the chemist will stop the itch if you don't have any luck with finding Dock leaves.
