That depends what is broken. Now a days they can be fixed fairly easy. Unless its a major problem I'd fix it. But new ones are cheap enough. If the one that is broken is an older model maybe it is time to replace it. I bought my house 4 years ago. When we used the dishwasher it made a noise I didn't like. So we decided to buy a new machine. Since the washer still worked we offered it to my sister and brother in law. They took it thinking it would last another 6 months to year as we believed. That thing is still working today 4 years later.

i think you should try to repair it yourself. get all the tools ready and just poke your nose into the dishwasher. it will be fun and experience to repair and use the dishwasher again. best of luck

There is a cheeky way you can get it fixed very cheaply. Simply contact British or Scottish gas and ask them for kitchen appliance cover. Unlike the heating cover they DO NOT send anyone round to your house to check your appliances are working before taking you on to contract. It costs pennies, and after a couple of days on contract call them out and.. hey presto you got it fixed for £9.75
I've provided a link to the relevant page on their website.

I told you to wait till she got home to programme the damn thing..... Now you will have to buy her a new one...... Give it to her as an early Birthday present and save that new ironingboard until Christmas (no need to spoil her too badly) lol
