I have met very few military people who had been in combat that were not peace advocates. Peace from strength is much better than peace from submission. There will always be those who wish to dominate thru strength, and their ambitions need to be curbed.

I think Will Rodgers said it best "Your right to swing ends where my nose begins"
If you take a close look at total world history, you will find that Peace is not a natural course of events. If you look at the animal world, there is always someone/thing below you on the food chain that must be consumed for survival.
To be an advocate for peace, you must obtain the skills of war, then chose not to use them except to promote peace (prevent war) Look to the theroy of the Cold War the US and USSR went through as a course of Mutually Assured Destruction, after a lot of saber ratteling, the USSR fell apart, in part to the "Star Wars" inititive. You might read "The Art of War" by Tung Tzu. The greatest accomplishment of a warrior is to defeat an enemy without engaging in hostilities. I wish you luck on your journey.
