Speed is not the main concern when it comes to the 32-bit vs. 64-bit debate. In fact, 64-bit can often be a tad slower in some of the same tasks as a 32-bit kernel or application. Most of what you do on a PC today doesn't need to be coded for 64-bit.
In the future, much larger amounts of memory will exist in the average PC, along with the size of the files we work with ever increasing. This is where 64-bit starts to shine over 32-bit. Speed will eventually move in 64-bit's favor once every component of the OS, application, and hardware driver is written specifically for it. There are some situations already out there today where this is the case.

yes , the 64 bit linux works faster than 32 bit linux
red hat 3.0 and suse linux 9.0 supports the 64 bit processers.
at one clock cycle of 32 bit processer 32 bit data computed and with the 64 bit processor 64 bit data computed
thats why 64 bit is faster

ys if only ur proccesor n ur motherboard supports it....as it uses more amount of registers...tht is the bits used to store ny thing into memory for faster caching
